FIRE

Fire insurance is property insurance covering damage and losses caused by fire. The purchase of fire insurance in addition to homeowner’s or property insurance helps to cover the cost of replacement, repair, or reconstruction of property, above the limit set by the property insurance policy. Fire insurance policies typically contain general exclusions, such as war, nuclear risks, and similar perils.

Fire insurance policies include payment for loss of use, or additional living expenses due to uninhabitable conditions as well as damage to personal property, and nearby structures. Homeowners should document the property and its contents to simplify the assessment of items damaged or lost during a fire.
Fire insurance covers a policyholder against fire loss or damage from many sources. Sources include fires brought about by electricity, such as faulty wiring and explosion of gas, as well as those caused by lightning and natural disasters.  Bursting and overflowing of a water tank or pipes may also be covered by the policy.
 Cash Insurance

Money insurance protects you financially against the loss of, or damage to, your money kept in your business property or home.

What it covers

  • Loss of or damage to:
    • Cash, cheques, postal and money orders
    • Postage and revenue stamps
    • Credit card vouchers
    • Pre-paid vouchers
    • Gift vouchers and other negotiable instruments
  • The cover is valid if the money is stolen or damaged at the address noted on your schedule or while in transit.
  • It also covers money containers, clothing and medical expenses
 Cash In Transit
An organization may need to physically transport large sums of money from one place to another. This puts your money at risk of theft from opportunistic burglars while it is in transit. This cover would protect your organization against “All Risks” of physical loss and/or damage to money whilst in transit to and from the premises.
Cash In Business
Coverage applies in the event that a theft occurs on your company property or inside your company’s bank and results in a loss or destruction of cash as well as damage or destruction to a cash register, safe, vault, cash drawer or cash box.

Erection All Risk

Written in connection with construction projects outside the United States, EAR policies are designed to cover the risk of loss arising out of the erection and installation of machinery, plant and steel structures, including physical damage to the contract works, equipment and machinery, and liability for third-party bodily injury (BI) or property damage (PD) arising out of these operations. Coverage for delay in start-up (DSU) costs is typically an optional coverage. Covered parties include the general contractor, subcontractors, and in some cases suppliers and manufacturers of equipment. Examples of the types of projects for which EAR coverage is typically purchased include power plants, manufacturing and fabrication facilities, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and telecommunications centers (particularly where the erection of signal towers is involved).

Contractor All Risk

An “ALL RISKS” cover available to contractors that will offer protection destruction or damage to;
i) the contract works
ii) contractor’s plant & machinery at the site
iii) materials on site

Scope of cover will include fire, burglary, floods, earthquake and unforeseen and accidental damage to the property insured. A limited amount will also be available for removal of any debris from a site after such damage/destruction. In addition, the policy will extend to cover the contractor’s liability to members of the public (third parties), for death, injuries or damage to their property arising out of the contractor’s negligence.

Contractor Plant & Machinery

This is an insurance of contractors’ plant and machinery that is done on an annual basis. It covers unforeseen and sudden physical loss of or damage to the insured items, necessitating their repair or replacement. The cover, which excludes internal breakdown, applies at work, at rest or during maintenance operations and is not limited to a specific construction site. The sum insured should always be equal to the costs of replacement of the insured machinery by new machinery of the same kind at the same place (value of the new item plus customs duties plus transportation).

The Goods in Transit policy offers protection against loss, destruction, or damage to goods whilst they are in transit – from the time of leaving the insured’s premises to final delivery.
